But I feel that now is the right time to pass the baton to a successor. The past five years have undoubtedly been challenging, but also amongst the most enjoyable and rewarding of my career, and I’m grateful to all my colleagues for what we’ve achieved together.”

Ralph will continue in role until September and will present TSB’s H1 results with Debbie Crosbie at the end of July.

Declan Hourican joins TSB on 13 September, when he will become a member of the TSB Executive Committee and Board. He joins from Tesco Bank where he has been Chief Financial Officer since 2016 and played a central role in delivering against the Bank’s goal to help Tesco shoppers manage their money a little better every day. He also led the recent acquisition of their joint venture, Tesco Underwriting, as part of a broader transformation of the insurance business. Declan previously worked at RBS for 14 years where he held various CFO roles including in restructuring, non-core, retail banking and insurance.
