TSB Announces New Appointments to Leadership Team
TSB today announces the appointment of Pete Markey as Chief Marketing Officer and Alison Straszewski as Treasurer, subject to regulatory approval.
These appointments follow the announcements by Nigel Gilbert, TSB’s current Chief Marketing Officer, and Ian Firth, TSB’s current Treasurer, that they will be retiring at the end of September 2018.
Rachel Lock, TSB’s HR Director, has also announced that she will be leaving TSB at the end of November. The Bank is in the process of securing a successor for this role.
Furthermore, earlier this month, TSB also appointed George Gordon as Communications and Corporate Affairs Director.

Pete Markey is currently TSB’s Marketing Director and has previously held Director level roles at Aviva, Post Office, RSA Group and MORE TH>N. Pete has worked in British Gas, the AA and One.Tel in a range of marketing roles. Pete is a Fellow of both the Marketing Society and CIM and a member of the Marketing Week “Vision 100.” Pete has been awarded four prestigious Marketer of the Year awards and completed the prestigious inaugural Marketing Academy Fellowship Programme, and is a mentor for the Academy’s scholarship programme.
Alison Straszewski has been TSB’s Deputy Treasurer and Director of Asset & Liability Management since December 2012. Before joining TSB Alison was at Lloyds Banking Group, latterly as Chief Operating Officer for Wholesale Banking and Markets. Prior to Lloyds Banking Group Alison was at Rabobank where she was International Finance Director and then Managing Director of Group Treasury Support.
George Gordon brings 20 years of experience to TSB, having held leadership roles in retail, consumer goods, government as well as financial services. Prior to TSB, George worked for Tesco, including serving as UK & Ireland Communications Director on the UK Leadership Team. George also worked for Unilever for 14 years and held communications roles at national, European and Global levels. He also spent two years in Cabinet Office advising ministers and policymakers on better regulation.
