Sergio Palavecino appointed as a Non-Executive Director
TSB has today announced the appointment of Sergio Palavecino to the Board as a Non-Executive Director, subject to regulatory approval.
Sergio will join the TSB Board following his recent appointment as Chief Financial Officer at Banco Sabadell.
TSB’s Chair, Nick Prettejohn, said: “We are delighted to welcome Sergio to the TSB Board. He brings a wealth of experience that will undoubtedly enhance our perspective as we support the bank to deliver its strategy.”

Sergio Palavecino is the Chief Financial Officer at Banco Sabadell. Before his current role, he led Financial Management and Corporate Operations at the Group, where he managed balance sheet strategy, structural risks, and capital management.
During his career at Banco Sabadell, which began in 2000, Sergio has overseen key areas including budgeting, management control, and investor relations.
Sergio Palavecino holds an Industrial Engineering degree from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and a Master's in economics and finance from CEMFI, affiliated with the Bank of Spain. His combined technical and financial background has been instrumental in his leadership of Banco Sabadell's financial operations.
Leopoldo Alvear has stepped down from the TSB Board following his resignation from Sabadell Group (31 October 2024).
